Here's How To Get The Look:

Paint your full nail a bright color.

Once that has dried, place a circle sticker on the top portion of ur nail.

Then paint the darker color on top.

Remove the sticker before it has fully dried.

Then add a little glitter.

Finish it off with a clear top coat.

So at the mortgage company I work for, we have offically aquired $100billion in our portfolio.....which is ahhhmazing!!! So of course our, mostly young, company had to throw a party that allowed us all at least an hr away from our cubes for some fun times, music, food, games and prizes. We all got cute cups with out company name from corporate leaders as we walked in to work and the icing on the cake.....we get to wear jeans today thru Friday :) Love that!! Remixing's on hold

So I absolutely love to mix and match the stuff I own, but lately instead of remixing I've been in this mode of getting use out of everything in my closet....since starting my new job I have yet to wear any top twice (Besides one black cardi that has been repeated) and I am loving the feeling of "newness" that comes with each outfit. Which do you prefer....the power/challenge of the remix or the fierceness of wearing something "new"?

Tuesday I decided to play it a little more nuetral than usual and to go with something comfy, bc I went to the ortho to get my retainer, which I despise lol. Ahh well, it will work out....at least I'm done with braces!! :)

So I had been lusting over this ahhmazingly detailed and fantastically cream colored cardi, since it first appeared in the Talbots outlet at only 25% it's $119 sticker price. Definately wasn't going to pay that much, so I watched closely as it scooted down to 50%, 60%, 70% and finally 95% an even lower sale price, which is when I plucked it out of the store and ran......well, I paid of course, but then I ran just in case they decided making this amazing cardi a total bargain was a dumb decision. lol Have u ever had an item you stalked until it hit the perfect price point?

Catching Up

I wore the outfit above on Friday for "Jeans Day." I saw a girl wear white jeans on jeans day a few wks ago and loved how much more summery it looked then regular jeans. I have had these jeans for over 2yrs and they still had their TJ Maxx tag on them, because they were always too tight. (I bought them without trying them on) Well, you guessed it....they fit now :) Actually the waist is a little big, so decided I better get some use out of before their too big to wear.

Wild Work Skirt

I don't wear this skirt too often, because it is definately a loud piece, but when I do wear it I always feels confident and bold in it. I don't know if it's the unexpected animal print or the nontraditional work wear aspect, but I just love it. I scored this awesome skirt at Burlington the day I interviewed for my first post college job (aka, my last job before this one). I thought my interview went great, but had basically no $$ (Poor college student), so wanted to reward myself in a little way and scored this skirt on mega clearance. Jeans Friday, Take 1

Today was an interesting Friday!! Started out by discovering I was bitten by a spider, who knows when, and it has made my ankle super tender all day. Then started taking my first customer calls post training all by myself and oh my, that was fun, no seriously, I really love it. I obviously still have a million things to learn and am pretty sure I asked my coworkers like a 100 questions today, but it went great. :) Didn't leave work for lunch, just had a lunchable, because I have this new theory that all restaurant food make me feel sick...no bueno!!! Finally and most excitedly....it's Friday, which means 2 very important things....we got to wear jeans to work, which I like once a week and the weekend is upon us. This last week of training has been intense and I have really enjoyed it, but I definitely appreciate the weekend and getting caught up on rest and randomness. :) So after that little Friday ramble, on to my outfit.....

I had a floral dress with hot pink peep toe wedges all set out to wear this morning and then I get out of bed, had breakfast and looked at the outfit and thought.....I so don't wanna wear that today. Doesn't happen that often, but I had to think quick...since I apparently take forever and a day to get ready. lol (Long story short, I wake up at 6am and I had to be at work at 8:30 and literally live 3mins from my work and barely made it) Anyways, I decided to go with a basic blak sheath dress, which by the way is several sizes to big, which is why I added the belt, then I topped it out with this amazing garage sale find, the jewel toned jacket. Isn't it nice, when you unexpectedly throw together something you love at the last second.

Back to the grind after a long weekend....Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July. I got to spend some much needed rest time with my family. I'm feeling rejuvinated and ready to get back into the swing of things. Today, I decided to go with pants instead of a skirt, because....honestly...it felt like a Monday and after driving the 6hrs home yesterday I wanted an easy, but stylish outfit.

I decided to go for simple and easy to put together....since it is Monday and all. ;) Today was another day full of training classes and sitting side by side with seasoned co-workers. I am loving the training at my new job....if every company valued training this month the workforce would be different!! Even though I am starting in a whole new industury, from the privatized education world to mortgages, I feel like the transition isn't such an adjustment, because the training has made me feel, so connected and informed. I am loving what I'm learning and can't wait to grow in the practice of applying what I'm learning....that's the tricky/nerve racking part. But, one day at a time...I'm gonna push myself to try typing customer notes in the system during calls tommorow. :) Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Goal Dress

First off...time to celebrate the fact that my camera is back up and running. :) Yay!!! Now on to something even more exciting. For those of you that follow my other blog, you know that I am on a weightloss/getting healthy journey and a while back (Over 10lbs ago) my mom got me this awesome red dress, which was waaaay to tight at the time, but she said I should keep it as my "goal dress" and when I loose a little more weight I can wear it. So, that's what I did. I decided to try it on this evening and.......

It fits PERFECTLY!!!! :) It's such a good feeling to know my hard work is paying off. I love this dress...and it even came with the belt I'm wearing. The icing on the cake....well, it was $15.99 at Bealls. Weightloss and a good deal. Doesn't get much better than that!! ~Kendra~

Red Hot Spring Into Summer

I went for spring time florals with a pop of pearls and red. Love how this outfit is comfy for a long day of training, but still fun and office trendy. So, today is St. Patricks Day....I was going to wear green on my nails, but then I decided to wear a cute printed blazer that incorporates both blue and green....so I decided to go with this blue polish. This Mini Diva's polish is a fun color, but I don't really like the consistency of it. It's kinda of goopy, but not thick enough either...weird! It also take a long time to dry....so if ur patient and willing to work with it go ahead and try it lol :) Because once your finished applying it, the color is super cute!! Notice anything different?? Well, if you read the title of this post, then you probably already noticed my new hairstyle. I got layers, the end trimmed, a new color and highlights....Woohoo!!! I've been looking for the prefect Gold for a while now. Lately I've been loving all things gold and though it would be fun to wear gold polish as well. So, I snatched up Revlon's Gold Coin. Jewelry Of the Day: Gray Jewels

Today my jewelry is all gray. I started off with the necklace, which I got in the DFW Airport when I was going to North Carloina for my college internship. Then I remembered I just got the stretchy gray beaded bracelets. To match those I picked out the ring. Then to add more fun I added the diamond stretch bracelet. Last of all, I added the fun earrings, which magically match the ring perfectly even though I got them at different stores and different times. I hardly ever wear this skirt, but I am so glad I did, because it's super comfy, but still looks put together. Today was one of those mornings where everything seemed to go wrong, the dogs go out and I had to chase them several blocks, someone scratched my bumper in the parking lot, the dress I bought at Target yesterday didn't fit right and I was just whiney.....so what did I did to make my day better? If you didn't catch it from the title, I did some retail therapy. lol I decided to go to Target to get cash back for the dress. I browsed Target for a bit and didn't find anything there, so I decided to go to Goodwill, which I haven't been to in a while. When walkin in Goodwill they had a huge sign on the door...it was 50% off day...Yay!!! Finally hit a bright spot in my day. I had a blast looking in there and walked away with a pair of Gray Ann Taylor dress pants for 2, a black J Crew Cardigan for $2 and a really cutes tan braided and studded skinny belt for $1. My day was instantly improved!! :) What's that store that always makes you feel better when your having "one of those" days?

Lately, I have been completly OBSESSED with nail polish....buy it (Elf and Revlon r my current fav brands), wearing it (constantly), changing daily (I need something to do lol) and doing fun designs on my ring finger (Thanks to eleventhgorgeous...look em up on Youtube).

So as you may have noticed, I hit up the Talbots outlet and stocked up on tons of work wear this weekend. That store is going to be my new go-to place for office wear. I fell in love with everything in there for not only the great quality of clothing, but also the fact everything in the store was either 50% or 80% off already reduced prices....OMG!!! I almost died when I found a LBD (Little Black Dress) with amazing neck detailing that was originally priced at $198.00 and I got it for about $16.....yeah, super awesome deals!!!! So I know..I'm way, way behind on the 30 for 30 challenge, but with getting sick, then my bday, then oral surgery...this just has not been the month for a challenge, but I will definately try it again!! :) I think the next challenge I wanna do is following Kimberly's (Fab Finds Under $50) monthly outfit calendar for March. The challenge of following that will be a little less constricted and will allow for shopping in both my closet and stores hehe. How's the 30 for 30 challenge going for you??? Still going strong...or like me and this month threw you things you weren;t expecting that may have gotten in thew way? I wore this outfit late week, before I got sick, to work. I just loved the combo of lace with a work appropriate, but fun colored, sheath dress!! Remixing simple dressings with different tops and tights in your wardrobe is a great way to make better use of those items you may not be wearing much. I can think of a million different ways to wear this simple $8 Target dress.....such a good buy!!! :)

So...with the crazy snowy weather and then an unexpected sick spell (Which is why my face looks a little swollen on one side)...I have taken an unexpected detour from the 30 for 30 challenge, but am still workin it in my own way....still following the only wear each accessory 1 time this month rule and also wearing shoes other than those black flats (Which i happen to be wearing in this Outfit of the day...opps!) I have really enjoyed the challenge, because it really has made me take a second look at all the great pieces I already have in my closet :) How's the challenge going for you????

Sorry I've been absent most of this week...I've not been feeling well AT ALL!! :( Found out I have to get some dental work done next week and have some nerve damage in my left cheek, so I have been in lots of pain....so laying down is the only thing I've been doing for the last few days. Today on my nails, I have Revlon's Lilac Pastelle #185, which I have been trying to make myself love, but I'm just not totally feelin the color...it comes of more dirty pink than lilac. Also, on the ring finger I have added some glitter with Bonbons glitter in pink. I love this glitter and it seems to match and change with any color you layer it over. This is one of my all time favs and an awesome deal for only 99cents. :) ~Kendra~

I'm so excited, but I'm also nervous about the challenge for several reasons....my fashion rut is comfy, although I seem to grab the same types of pieces it's easy, fast and conveniant, but I want more than that (which is why I'm doing the challenge) I wanna feel great and enjoy utilizing all my clothes. Work Style

Today I posted a video on my Youtube Channel: LowCostHighStyle featuring one of my work outfits. I tend to go for cute or funky tops layered with a cardigan, fun accessories, plan dress pants and flats. What's you work style? Part of my style resolutions for the new year is to step out of my work style and do something different....I have tons of dresses and heels in my closet, but haven't been wearing them much lately. I wanna use my whole closet and take advantage of all my accessories, not just a select few. Instead of layering cardis over tops and pants...I wanna layer them over dressed and tights...even add a skinny belt here and there. :) Let me know what your doing this year to break out of your style box. Fashion Goals for 2011

Here are a few fashion/style goals I have in mind for 2011:

1. Consistently post on Youtube and blogger by making YT vids and then positions corresponding blogs.
.
2. Use more of the things in my closet.....lately I have gotten in a rut with black dress pants and the same black flats on most days. I want to try for January at least, to wear something new each weekday. Example: Monday-Friday no repeating of stuff...so if I wore black dress pants and flats Monday, no more black pants and black flats the rest of the week.
.
3. I want to learn more about makeup and make more tutorial videos on Youtube.
.
4. Remix....stop buying a new outfit for every occasion....I want to work on working with what I already have, which hopefully will allow me to save $$ bin the process.
.
