Fashion Goals for 2011

Here are a few fashion/style goals I have in mind for 2011:
.
1. Consistently post on Youtube and blogger by making YT vids and then positions corresponding blogs.
.
2. Use more of the things in my closet.....lately I have gotten in a rut with black dress pants and the same black flats on most days. I want to try for January at least, to wear something new each weekday. Example: Monday-Friday no repeating of stuff...so if I wore black dress pants and flats Monday, no more black pants and black flats the rest of the week.
.
3. I want to learn more about makeup and make more tutorial videos on Youtube.
.
4. Remix....stop buying a new outfit for every occasion....I want to work on working with what I already have, which hopefully will allow me to save $$ bin the process.
.
So those are the 4 goals I'm thinking of at the moment. Do you have any style goals for 2011? If so, leave a comment...I'd love to hear them!!! ~Kendra~

Christmas Eve PJ's

So every year my mom and I have this silly tradition where we wear matching PJ's Christmas eve night and then just leave our PJ's on all Christmas day....I know it's totally dorky, but hey....it's what we do lol :)
.
So here are the PJ's we picked out this year...our who PJ set is from Old Navy:
.
First we got cute red Christmas tees for $5.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Then we got cute Snowflake PJ pants....ours look exactly like this except they are black with white snowflakes with a red tie and they were $5 per pair.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Then we finished off the look with adorable green fuzzy socks for $2 per pair.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you have a great holiday no matter which one you celebrate :) ~Kendra~

A Winter Staple

For me, Black Sheath dresses are a winter staple!! They are great for layering and can be styled in a million different ways.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Sometimes I like to add a funky blazer to make it more fun...like this striped one below.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Other times I add an animal print cardi.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Skinny belts are also a fun way to add color and brighten up those cold wintery days.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Last but not least, I also add tights. For work more black, grey, brown or argyle tights, but for after work drinks you can add a funky pair of pink or purple tights to show off your fun side.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Sheath dresses are incredibly versatile, so style it your way and make it work for you. A good quality sheath dress is a great asset to any wardrobe and can really help on those days when your struggling to get ready, because you "have nothing to wear." Just pull out your dress and layer away. :) ~Kendra~

Organizing ideas

.
.
.
.
.
So I did not have time to do a new DIY project tonight, so I wanted to show you two decorating tips that are easy and help keep things organized in your home.
.
Here's the first one....
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
How do you organize your jewelry? For me....if I don't see it I don't wear it, so I wanted to get all my beaded necklaces out where they were easy to see and use. During an after Christmas sale I purchased a bunch of wreath hangers for about 10cents each and now use those to hang my necklaces and I sort them by color. It works great!! :)
.
The next quick and easy project is a spatula holder....
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I wanted to store the spatulas where they were easy to reach, but I wanted them to look cute as well. I purchsed a clear plain vase from dollar tree and then simply cute a gift bag into a rectangular shape, put it around the vase and taped it on. This is an easy way to changes up the decor....whenever you want to add a splash of color you could change the paper on the vase....and I think it looks like a cute kitchen bouquet. :)
.
So what are some fun DIY organization ideas you have come up with?

Yesterday I went shopping at The $8 Fashion Outlet with a friend from work. I had planned on getting a cute top for the double date I went on later that night, but I ended up seeing the amazing stuff the store recently recieved from QVC and I just couldn't resist.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I got this AHH-mazing dark green bag with purple handles....it's huge and has tons of pockets, which I adore!! Oh and it was only $8. I also got the amazing snake skin wedges. I've been looking for more statement shoes to wear to work and these are perfect and only $18. After we left that store I went to Dot's and picked up a cute black jersey dress and then paired it with these shoes and bag for my date night look....so fun!!! Did you do any shopping this weekend? Find any good deals? ~Kendra~

Date Night Duds

My boyfriend and I met up to see The Karate Kid before I left for a weekend with my family, so I wanted to dress up a little more, but still be comfy for movie watching. hehe I picked up this skirt on the clearance rack at Dot's. I'd been looking for a skirt like this that was decently long. Most skirts with the stretch waist band are super short, which is so not me! This one almost hits my knee, so I decided to snag it right away!! Then I paired it with a shirt I bought for the first career fair I helped plan at my job. It's so nice when I find ways to make my work pieces wearable outside work! :) Clothes that pull double duty are always great....especially when those darn student loans are about to kick in. lol

Father's Day Style

I went home to visit my family for Father's Day weekend. The night before leaving town I went by Dot's to get a cute skirt with an elastic band (I think they're adorable just hadn't been able to find one that was me yet) for my date that night. I got it, but I also saw this awesome paint splatter printed dress....I just loved it and had to get it!!

Flowery at Work

So, I recently got the dress from Dot's on the clearance rack. I have been trying to incorporate more fun dresses into my work wardrobe. I have the basic slacks, pencil skirts and button downs....but I wanna infuse more young and fun style into my work wear. I had purchased this red blazed during one of Goodwill's famous half price sales....So I used that to make it work for the office. I really love the way the outfit turned out and I am excited to see the different work-appropriate ways I can style it.
Red Blazer-$3 at Goodwill
Dress-$15 at Dots
Necklace-$3 at Dots
Bangle-50cents at Claires
Red Heels-$4.99 at Cato
Earrings-Less than a $1 at MIZ Accessories

What do you do to make your loud or bright dresses more work appropriate? Do you layer? Add conservative pieces on top? Let me know :)
