Apartment Shopping

So I have started collecting little things for my apartment. I move in December, which isn't too far away, so I wanna move in with some stuff to decorate already. The only things I won;t be buying early is the bed, couch and paint.
.
So here's what I have so far:

I got a pink vase (Mines more fuscia) at Goodwill for $1.50.

I got this Lion statue at Home Depot for $7. It's about a foot and a half tall. It's supposed to go in your garden, but I am going to spray paint it gold and place it in my living room. I kind of want to get another one, so I have 2 statues like my inspiration photo. We'll see if they still have them later.

I got the white vase above from goodwill for 59cents. I will put it in the living room.

This 59cent Goodwill case will also go in the living room.

I got this IKEA table at Goodwill for $5.50. It will go next to my couch in the living room.

This is the comforter I got for my bedroom. I am going to do teal, pink and white in my room. I also got a storage cube covered in the same material I can use as extra seating and storage in my room. I am also going to get a silver serving tray to sit on top of it and put a lamp and some little things on there.
.
I definately have a set idea of what I want everything to look like. Also, my bathroom will br bright colors plus black and white. I already have bright colored towel and wash clothes. I also purchsed a plain white shower curtain and I am going to paint a large black heart design on it. Then I am going to have several black pinture frames with "Love is" comics inside them. Then I want to buy some block letters to spell out LOVE and paint them and place them on the vanity. I already have a black trash can for in there as well. I hope everyone's having a great weekend...I will just leave with a cute thought.....

Movie Night

So last week my boyfriend and I went to see All About Steve. It was cute and funny. Loved the unexpected ending. So not what either of us predicted!! This was the first time I really got dressed since starting my new job and I was so tired I didn't even have the energy to get all cute hehe. I went for simple and comfy. I never realized how tiring a full time job truly is, but I have never been more happy at any job than I am at this one so far. I have a vision for the future, I enjoy my coworkers, I am becoming more confident in my abilities and I am just enjoying learning new things.

Flats-$5 at Claires
Bracelets-50cents at Claires

Hope everyones having a great week. I guess you've realized I finally got my camera cord back. My RA found it and brought it to me yesterday...Yay!!! Now I don't have to buy a new one :) ~Kendra~

PS: Doesn't my puppy Jackson look so adorable in my outfit pic. When he saw the light on the camera he went over and stared at it hehe. So adorable!!

Work Outfit

So I know my work uniform isn't that exciting, but I really have been doing my best to spice it up with colorful tank tops and jewelry!! I also wore several different pairs of flats to work till I realized....theres no way you can walk around in flats all day. At my job I walk all day and I am always on my feet. I need support, so I have been wearing some tennis shoes I got a while back. After the blisters and soaking my feet for several days I learned if I am gonna get stuff accomplished at work I have to be comfortable. So until I get paid and can get some cute and comfy tennis shoes I am sporting the athletic ones I already have.

I luv the fun detail on the pockets and waist of these pants. I only have 2 pairs of khakis and really wanna get some cords for winter. I also want to get a grey polo to throw in the mix. Hopefully as I grow at my job my work wardrobe will grow as well. ~Kendra~

Any Ideas??

So since my work attire is basically the same everyday except for jewelry. I was wondering if anyone has any fun ideas of posts I can do on my blog. I will definately try doing some more DIY and "Savings Saturday." I will also add my nonwork outfits ussually only one or two a week. I'm still getting used to my work schedule, so I haven't been doing anything exciting but work, study and rest...lol. Oh and on the weekend I think I will do a 'work week in review' showing an example of all the different ways I wore my work 'uniform' (khakis and a white polo). I have acctually been able to make it changeable by layering the polo over different colored tank tops and using some fun jewlery. Now I just need to invest in a pair of khaki cords and a grey polo and I will be set! So anyways, do any of you have ideas of what you'd like to see on Low Cost High Style???? If so post a comment...I'd luv to hear from all of you! ~Kendra~

Apartment Inspiration

In December, after college graduation I am moving off campus (Of course...lol) to an apartment all my own. I have never lived all by myself without any roommates and I couldn't be more excited!!!! I am dying over decorating choices and the fact I will live with my puppies, who currently reside at my bf's place, since no pets are allowed in the campus apartments. Anyways, I stumbled on this pic where Ivanka Trump helped one woman transform her bland apartment into something young, fun and so pretty. This is the inspiration for my future living/dining room!! My plan is to get my furniture at thrifts stores, picture frames, vases and other stuff like that at thrifts and dollar tree and I am even going to hunt down a Leopard statue...Im thinkin Hobby Lobby may have one....that will be my splurge hehe. Anyways, I am so excited and I wanted to share it with yall! :) ~Kendra~

Workin It

So today was my second day of work. I decided to add a pop of color to my uniform by layering with a bright tank underneath, pluc a fun necklace and animal print flats.

Hope everyone's havin a great week!!! ~Kendra~

Good Luck Came My Way

Well the reason I haven't posted in a few days is because I lost my camera. After searching everywhere with no luck I decided to ask the people at the computer lab where I usually blog on campus if they had a lost and found....they did...they opened the drawer and there was my camera...Yay!!! But they didn't see my camera cord, so until I get paid...no camera cord. But no worries...I have some old pics I haven't posted and I will figure out some fun things I can do till then :) So keep checkin back :) ~Kendra~

I Got The Job!!!!

My interview went great yesterday...I only went to the first interview, because they offered me the job and I accepted...woohoo!!!!! I am so excited. So I am an entry level Public Relations and Marketing Rep. There seem to be so many great oppourtunities at the company and I can't wait to start work on Tuesday!!! :) So for now I am enjoying my last few days of not working and thinking about how I can make my job outfits more fun. As an entry level rep I have to wear a white polo and khakis. I will get a grey polo with the logo on it soon. I also have to wear comfy shoes, because I will be on my feet most of the day! Sounds like a fun challenge to me :) I personally don't like khakis...I had to go purchase some before the second interview...and a I had to get a white polo too...lol Anyways, here are some ideas:

#1-Simply add pearls, a pearl and gold bracelet and woven tan flats
#2-Brown flats with gold bangles and then add a teal necklace for a pop of color
#3-Camel scarf, chunky brown bangle and leopard flats
#4-Plaid flats with a black necklace and bangle
#5-Purple flats with a floral scarf and colorful bangles
#6-Zebra flats with a pink beaded necklace and jeweled bangles
#7-Gold flats and a gold beaded necklace
.
I am so excited about my new job and hope I can rock my khakis and polo in new and fun ways!!! ~Kendra~

DIY Embelished Neckline How To

These embelished necklines are oh so simple...you don't need to sew or anything!! I am a firm believer in good old fashioned hot glue! Anyways on to the How-To's...I am going to list materials and steps to create each induvidual top. I am so glad you all liked them and let me know if you try it out yourself :)
Materials:
Plain tee, ricrac of a contrasting color, scissors and hot glue
.
Directions:
Simply start by measuring the neckline with your ric rac and then cut it about an inch to long. Then glue down the ends of your ric rac, so they don't fray. Then glue one strand right against the neckline of the tee. Then move about an inch away from that and measure another piece of ric rac and glu down the ends. Then glue that pice to the shirt. It's simple but adds alot of interest to a plain tee!
.
.
.

I did these next two tops in the same way!
Materials:
hot glue, scissors, old tanktops with embelished necklines, plain tee
Directions:
First take your old tanktop and cute around the embelishment. Then decide where you want to place it on your tee. Then simply hot glue it on.
.
.
.

Materials:
plain tank top, old skirt, scissors and hot glue
Directions:
Simply cuts the hem off of an old skirt allow for at least 3 inches. Then cut it to fit around the front of the tank. Hot glue one piece on around the neckline of the tank. Then place the second piece about an inch away from the neckline, so it creates a layered effect.
.
.
.
.

Materials:
Tanktop, Gemmagic
Directions:
Lay your tank top on the flor and then place the gems in a fun pattern and then bend back the prongs to keep them in place. (I suggest everyone get a Gemmagic...they have them at walmart and they are amazing, but I just use the hand tool...I don't use the machine)

I hope all of these made sense, if not send an email or comment my way! :) ~Kendra~
