Wild Monday

I have been sew crazy lately....altering all my old "too big now" clothes so that they fit once again.  So much fun and so incredibly wardrobe expanding.  This is one time when my inability to throw away/donate old clothes comes in handy....now that I am sewing again my wardrobe is expanding like wild fire thanks to the storage closet on my balcony full of old clothes.  Greatness!!!
.
Today I wore a blazer and tank that I altered to fit.  Originally the blazer was much longer, loose and the sleeves were much to baggy.  So I cute the blazer about 6inches and hemed the edges.  I then srunk the sleeves to be more fitted.  As far as the tank top goes...it was a size large, so I simply sewed down the side seams to make it a bit smaller. Have a look.....
.
Here's What I Wore:
Leopard Blazer- $4 at Thrift City
Yellow tank- $4 at Talbots
Black Skinny Slacks- $6.99 at the TV Fashion Outlet
Scarf- $3.99 at Old Navy
Earrings- $5 at Charming Charlies
Bracelets- 6 for $5 at MIZ Accessories
Black Heels- $19 at random mall store

Rainy Day Wear

Today was a rainy, lazy, full of sewing Sunday.  I chose a comfy sweater and some boyish flats to enjoy the cool weather thats rolled in and relaxing in my sewing nook. :-)  This weekend has been an altering marathon.....taking all my old "bigger" clothes that I was about to donate to Goodwill and turning them into new, smaller versions of themselves.  So exciting....I didn't have to spend any money and it's like my wardrobe has doubled.  My sewing machine has definately paid for it's self already! I still have a huge pile of clothes left to finish altering.  Love it!!

This must be a lucky dress, because I has a great day...one of those everything just fell into place to make it great kind of days. :-)  Started off by getting a bunch of compliments on this dress...ruffles, pleats, mustard yellow color...what's not to love?!  Next I got my first fashion styling client...a guy at work whose vintage Halloween costume I will be thrifting, styling and altering if needed.  Gotta start somewhere, right? :-)  Then I got at work I got an appreciation award for my part in the huge new loan acquisition which included a cute star award, a card "signed" (electronic signature, but hey I'll take it) and a $100 giftcard.  Jackpot!!  To end off the day I went to MMA practice...tonight was kickboxing and I made the decision to start trying out Jujitsu starting on Mondays.  Yay!!
After practice I did what any shopaholic would do and headed straight to the mall, luckily located a block away from the gym, and spent $80 of my giftcard lol.  $20 left for some weekend fun with my honey. :-)

OOTD: Army Green on Rememberance Day

Today was the 11 year anniversary of 9/11....can you believe it's been that long?  Crazy!! I was in Highschool Government class when everyone found out and the rest of the day instead of doing work we watched the news scared and confused.  What a horribly scary day!!
.
Yerars have passed since that time, but I think it's great that people seem to be finding ways to keep the memory of what happened on that day and the lives lost in our hearts.
.
Now on to happy, cheerful, outfit of the day, thrift shopping thoughts :-)

Shopping Adventures: Part 1

Labor Day weekend was full or great sales so of course I did some equally great shopping/deal hunting.  I bought a ton and don't wanna make a huge post of everything so I am breaking it up into parts.  Part 1 is shoes.  I scored 6 new pairs of shoes, all on sale and all great additions to my wardrobe that will work now and most of which will carry over into fall/winter. Here they are:
For top left all the way to bottom right....
.
Black bow pumps- $12 at Factory Outlet
Red Wedges- $5 at Factory Outlet
Nude bow pumps- $17.98 at Factory Outlet
Pink vintage flats- $1 at Tralee Resale
Brown Wedges- $11.95 at NY&Co.
Black Wedges- $11.95 at NY& Co.
.
Which ones are your fav?  I think my fav pair are the nude bow pumps...classy enough for work but still fun and flirty enough for a night out.  Luv em!!
