Funky Skirt

So, I got this skirt during a recent thrifting venture.  I was looking to get several skirts, but ended up walking away with just one....this lovely little skirt is a perfect transition piece into fall with it's warm nuetral tones and loner hem line.

Remixing's on hold

So I absolutely love to mix and match the stuff I own, but lately instead of remixing I've been in this mode of getting use out of everything in my closet....since starting my new job I have yet to wear any top twice (Besides one black cardi that has been repeated) and I am loving the feeling of "newness" that comes with each outfit.  Which do you prefer....the power/challenge of the remix or the fierceness of wearing something "new"?
Tuesday I decided to play it a little more nuetral than usual and to go with something comfy, bc I went to the ortho to get my retainer, which I despise lol.  Ahh well, it will work out....at least I'm done with braces!! :)
So, here's what I wore:
Lime Green Cardi- $1.99 at Denton Thrift
Gray Top- $12 from Target
Black Limited Brand Pants- $3.99 at Goodwill
Heels- $4 at Payless
Earrings-6 for $5 at MIZ Accessories
Bracelet a set is 6 for $5 at MIZ Accessories
Outfit Total: About $23
Since I kept yesterday so simple....and even got a comment from a co-worker "Wow, your not quiet as colorful today"...I decided to add a big burst of color in the outfit today.  I've been holding on to this red pencil skirt for just the right outfit. :)  (BTW, I know I look way more tan in the second pic...I have become addicted to spray tanning and was finally able to get in another tan session last night.)

Here;s What I Wore:
Funky Top- $7 at Plato's Closet
Black Tank Top- $3.88 at Walmart
Red Pencil Skirt- $1 at Thrift City
Heels- $12 at Cato
Necklace- $1 at Dots
Bangle- 50cents at CCA Thrift

Cardi Love

So I had been lusting over this ahhmazingly detailed and fantastically cream colored cardi, since it first appeared in the Talbots outlet at only 25% it's $119 sticker price.  Definately wasn't going to pay that much, so I watched closely as it scooted down to 50%, 60%, 70% and finally 95% an even lower sale price, which is when I plucked it out of the store and ran......well, I paid of course, but then I ran just in case they decided making this amazing cardi a total bargain was a dumb decision. lol  Have u ever had an item you stalked until it hit the perfect price point?

Here's what I wore today:
Cream Colored Cardi- $6 at Talbots Outlet
Colorful Tank- $3 at Marshalls
Black Tank- Free hand-me-down from mom
Black Pencil Skirt- $8.88 at the $8 Fashion Outlet
Heels- $9 at Payless
Necklace- $14 at Talbots Outlet
Bangle- 50cents at CCA Thrift
Studs- Came in a set of a huge pack of studs 6packs for $5
Outfit Total: $ 42.21

I know you can't really tell in the pic, but down the from of the cardi there are little metal circles hanging off it and on the front the circles are cream and on the back they're gold.
Hope everyone has a great week!!  ~Kendra~

Wild Work Skirt

I don't wear this skirt too often, because it is definately a loud piece, but when I do wear it I always feels confident and bold in it.  I don't know if it's the unexpected animal print or the nontraditional work wear aspect, but I just love it.  I scored this awesome skirt at Burlington the day I interviewed for my first post college job (aka, my last job before this one).  I thought my interview went great, but had basically no $$ (Poor college student), so wanted to reward myself in a little way and scored this skirt on mega clearance.  Do you ever reqard yourself with shopping?  Oh I sure do!!! lol :)

Jeans Friday, Take 1

Today was an interesting Friday!!  Started out by discovering I was bitten by a spider, who knows when, and it has made my ankle super tender all day.  Then started taking my first customer calls post training all by myself and oh my, that was fun, no seriously, I really love it.  I obviously still have a million things to learn and am pretty sure I asked my coworkers like a 100 questions today, but it went great. :)  Didn't leave work for lunch, just had a lunchable, because I have this new theory that all restaurant food make me feel sick...no bueno!!!  Finally and most excitedly....it's Friday, which means 2 very important things....we got to wear jeans to work, which I like once a week and the weekend is upon us.  This last week of training has been intense and I have really enjoyed it, but I definitely appreciate the weekend and getting caught up on rest and randomness. :)  So after that little Friday ramble, on to my outfit.....
Here's what I wore today:
Printed top-$8.88 at the $8 Fashion Outlet
Jeans- $7.50 at Talbots Outlet
Black/Corck Wedges- $4 at Payless (Always seem to luck out during Payless sales.)

Earrings- Came in a set with a necklace for $1 at MIZ Accessories

Jewel Tones

I had a floral dress with hot pink peep toe wedges all set out to wear this morning and then I get out of bed, had breakfast and looked at the outfit and thought.....I so don't wanna wear that today.  Doesn't happen that often, but I had to think quick...since I apparently take forever and a day to get ready. lol (Long story short, I wake up at 6am and I had to be at work at 8:30 and literally live 3mins from my work and barely made it) Anyways, I decided to go with a basic blak sheath dress, which by the way is several sizes to big, which is why I added the belt, then I topped it out with this amazing garage sale find, the jewel toned jacket.  Isn't it nice, when you unexpectedly throw together something you love at the last second.
Here's what I wore:
Basic black sheath dress- $25 at Cato (Came with a cute black, white and red blazer)
Black Belt-free with a dress from Bealls

Back to the grind....

Back to the grind after a long weekend....Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July.  I got to spend some much needed rest time with my family.  I'm feeling rejuvinated and ready to get back into the swing of things.  Today, I decided to go with pants instead of a skirt, because....honestly...it felt like a Monday and after driving the 6hrs home yesterday I wanted an easy, but stylish outfit.
Here's what I wore:

Working It: B/W Style

I decided to go for simple and easy to put together....since it is Monday and all. ;)  Today was another day full of training classes and sitting side by side with seasoned co-workers.  I am loving the training at my new job....if every company valued training this month the workforce would be different!!  Even though I am starting in a whole new industury, from the privatized education world to mortgages, I feel like the transition isn't such an adjustment, because the training has made me feel, so connected and informed.  I am loving what I'm learning and can't wait to grow in the practice of applying what I'm learning....that's the tricky/nerve racking part.  But, one day at a time...I'm gonna push myself to try typing customer notes in the system during calls tommorow. :)  Keep your fingers crossed for me!!
On to what you're probably here for....the outfit:

Goal Dress

First off...time to celebrate the fact that my camera is back up and running. :)  Yay!!!  Now on to something even more exciting.  For those of you that follow my other blog, you know that I am on a weightloss/getting healthy journey and a while back (Over 10lbs ago) my mom got me this awesome red dress, which was waaaay to tight at the time, but she said I should keep it as my "goal dress" and when I loose a little more weight I can wear it.  So, that's what I did.  I decided to try it on this evening and.......
It fits PERFECTLY!!!!  :)  It's such a good feeling to know my hard work is paying off.  I love this dress...and it even came with the belt I'm wearing.  The icing on the cake....well, it was $15.99 at Bealls.  Weightloss and a good deal.  Doesn't get much better than that!! ~Kendra~

Summer Tweed

I am loving this outfit...I just wish u could really see the full length picture. (Mental note: Must go to walmart to exchange the wrong memory card I bought, so I can get my camera up and running again...this webcam doesn't cut it for full outfit shots.) I think the summer tweed with it's grey, gold and cream colors look great with the awesome Talbots necklace I score on mega clearance last Friday. Also, my new peep toe nude heels are a great finishing touch to round out the cool, soft tones of this outfit. :)
Gray Ruffle Top- 75cents at Denton Thrift
Pink Ribbon and Gold Chain necklace- about $14 at Talbots (Originally $79)
Nude Skinny Belt-about $4 at Talbots Outlet (Originally $29)
Tweed Skirt- $5.99 at Cato
Nude Peep Toe Heels- $14.99 at Cato
Gold Men's Stretch Watch- $10 at Walmart

I feel like everytime I got to Talbots Outlet, I am getting such good quality for a great price....I love that!! I have been dying for a necklace like the pink and gold one here. Most of them I've really loved sure were too expensive, but this beauty fit into my budget perfectly. Gotta love an inexpensive outfit that doesn't look like it!! What fancy things do you have that you got for a really good deal? ~Kendra~

Red Hot Spring Into Summer

I my camera is out of commision for the moment...aka...my battery died, plus my memory is full, so hopefully you can bear with the webcam pics for a bit. :)  Anyways....on to the outfit.  I went for spring time florals with a pop of pearls and red.  Love how this outfit is comfy for a long day of training, but still fun and office trendy. Ruffles, pearls and bold....what could be more me?  Oh and I must mention these pants....I scored them at Goodwill this weekend.  They are The Limited brand and a size 8.....it's been FOREVER since I've seen the single digits....given these do have some stretch, but I am still super pumped and feel and extra dose of confidence with I put them on. MIZ Accessory Outlet

MIZ Accessory Outlet is my favorite place to buy jewelry for several reasons.

 #1: Almost everything is 6 for $5.
#2 They have a wide variety of jewelry, accessories and makeup.
#3:  It ranges from super trendy to classic, so there's something for everyone.
#4:  The staff in the store are super friendly.

As the somewhat official, (well, it is what they call me when I go in there) '#1 Fan of MIZ Accessory" I have to shout it's praises just a little more in depth on my blog...right?!  If you look back at prevoius outfit posts you will notice alot of cute accesories came from there.

Here's a pic of my earrings and rings from a while back and 90% are from MIZ Accessories:
(I've added alot more since then...lol)

So if you live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, go check them out at
3550 West Airport Freeway, Irving, TX 75062.
Trust me....You'll be glad you did!!

BTW: I am not sponsored or paid in any way by MIZ Accessories.

Pre-planning and Posting

I have pre-planned all my outfits for the coming week and hope to get all my outfits this week posted on the blog....I know...you're probably thinking "Sure you will Kendra.  You've been gone forever." lol  But, hey...you get busy and distracted sometimes, but I'm back and newly inspired fashion wise, so I hope to post at least a few times per week.  :)  Thanks for hangin in there with me. ~Kendra~

Accessories: Black and Silver

I'm all about the accessories lately. :)  Yesterday I wore this fun  black and silver combo to work.

Earrings: $1 at MIZ Accessories
Necklace: $5.99 at Cato

What type of accessories do you like to add to finish off your outfits?

*PS: Does my new spray tan count as an accessory? lol  I've been doing Versa spray tans at Planet Tan and I love em.  Not to dark, but far from my old pastey whiteness that I was getting tired of. :)

OOTD: Shirt Dress

Today after a trip to the gym to get in some cardio and weight training, my boyfriend and I decided to meet for lunch before he had to head to work.  I hurried home, showered and changed.  This is what I decided to wear for the day.  Since starting my weight loss journey, I've lost nearly 30lbs and I know feel comfortable wearing tights with short shirt types dresses.   I just love how cute and put together this outfit seems, but it's still nice and cool for the hot days ahead. :)
